The Museum of Florida History and the John G Riley Center/Museum along with other partners throughout the state and city of Tallahassee will commemorate May 20th, the day of Emancipation for all those enslaved in the State of Florida. Throughout the month of May, civic, social and educational organizations will celebrate the Emancipation Proclamation which was read on the steps of the Knott house on May 20, 1865.
